Ernest handles a broad range of civil litigation matters, and serves as the firm's managing owner. As a very active trial lawyer, he has tried cases throughout many jurisdictions in such fields as professional malpractice, health care, products liability, insurance coverage, reinsurance and premises liability. Ernest is retained by several major corporations to represent them in their litigation as primary outside counsel. He recently concluded trials with favorable verdicts on behalf of several major hospitals and on behalf of Verizon in a case involving a death of a child and a multi-million dollar demand. In addition to trial practice, Ernest also serves as a consultant for various carriers and underwriters in regard to coverage, reinsurance and risk management issues. Ernest serves as a frequent speaker at seminars in the areas of products liability, medical devices, insurance issues and coverage, as well as law firm management. He also conducts training sessions for carriers and self-insured on loss control and risk management issues.
