Rick is a shareholder of Harvey, Pennington Ltd., practicing in its Labor Relations and Employment Law Department. He represents management in all aspects of labor and employment law. In the traditional labor law arena, Rick has handled a wide range of matters, including union avoidance and organizational/representation issues, proceedings before the NLRB, mass picketing and injunction litigation, collective bargaining, workplace safety and wage and hour matters, grievance administration, labor arbitration and mediation.

Rick also has extensive experience in all areas of employment law, including the defense of employment discrimination and wrongful discharge claims, drafting employment contracts and separation agreements, disputes concerning restrictive covenants and trade secret issues, drafting employee handbooks and personnel policies, unemployment and counseling employers on issues affecting the employment relationship.

Rick regularly speaks in seminars and training forums to employers on topical labor relations and employment law issues. In connection with his speaking engagements, he has written numerous manuals addressing those issues. Rick received his B.A. cum laude from Howard University in 1980, and graduated from Temple University School of Law in 1983. Since September of 1989, he has served as a member of the House of Delegates of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Rick is a past president of the Barristers’ Association and has also been active on various committees of the Philadelphia Bar Association, including the Young Lawyers Executive Committee, the Judicial Selection and Retention Committee and the Lawyer Referral and Information Service. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the National Insurance Industry Association of Philadelphia and a member of the Executive Committee of The Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel.
